Certified SHEN Therapist
I came to the UK in 1971 to study nursing with the intention of going back to Malaysia after gaining my qualification as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) in 1974. Here I am 40 years later, I am now permanently residing in U.K.
My journey in my nursing career progressed with my completion of a one year midwifery training in 1975, followed by another years training in Health Visiting. Since qualifying as a Health Visitor in 1976, I have been working as a Health Visitor, primarily in Harrow, Middlesex.
In 2001, I changed my role to Pediatric and Maternity Liaison Health Visitor for 7 years and made another change to taking on a Management Role in Health Visiting and School Nursing. I currently work as a Locality Lead in Buckinghamshire, managing 3 Health Visiting Teams and 1 school nursing Team.
In 1991 I stumbled across a training leaflet titled ‘Healing Touch – Holistic Massage, It was at a time that I was going through a difficult period in my personal life and also at a time of tremendous changes in the NHS which affected my job satisfaction. I immediately knew this was for a reason, and booked for the training.
Since then I have never looked back. My passion and journey in Complementary Therapy continued with further training and qualifications in:
Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Yoga Instructor, Baby Massage & Baby Yoga and the most significant of all was SHEN Therapy.
I was introduced to SHEN by a work colleague, and was astounded by the experience I felt following the SHEN session. It was at a time I was searching for something deeper to complement my own yoga and meditation practice.
Having SHEN in my life has changed and helped me with my own personal journey as well as professionally. I feel very privileged and blessed to have found SHEN Therapy.
I began my SHEN Practice in Harrow. Since moving to Aylesbury 6 years ago, my journey took me to a new path of house moving, and another career move. I am now establishing my SHEN practice in Aylesbury. I also take the opportunity to assist in the SHEN Workshops which is always a privilege and continuing learning curve.
